Costa Rica's tropical forests are home to a profusion of flora and fauna, including 1,000 species of orchid and 850 species of birds, such as macaws and toucans, and with animals ranging from howler monkeys to toucans there is plenty of attractive wildife.

The Caribbean coast with its swamps and sandy beaches is also a big draw. There are beautiful coral reefs, where you may dive and explore. With easy access to many beaches, you can make the most out of both coasts throughout the year as from one coast to the other is only a three hour drive.
